Cranberry's engineering department has completed a project to map the township's stormwater runoff.
Joe Caparosa, a township engineering representative, presented the results of the project Thursday night at the supervisors meeting. He said the township now has an updated record of where stormwater is discharged.
The last time Cranberry mapped its stormwater outfalls was during 2003 to 2004. Engineers then used a GPS system accurate to a meter and mapped 190 outfalls, Mr. Caparosa said.
This year, the township used a system that is accurate to the centimeter and mapped 628 private, commerical, township and state outfalls, he said.
The project is part of Cranberry's efforts to manage its storm sewer system, a state Department of Environmental Protection requirement.
