The Rivers Casino will conduct a test night for table games on July 6, with all the casino's winnings going to the Mario Lemieux Foundation.
The eight hours of table play that day will be for invited guests only. The casino's slot machines and restaurants will be open to the general public.
Following the test, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board will audit the results and verify procedures. If all goes well, table games will be available to the general public starting July 8 at 6 a.m.
In a statement, the casino said it selected the Mario Lemieux Foundation as the beneficiary because of its "outstanding philanthropic work and substantial contributions to the community." The foundation raises money for cancer and neonatal research and Austin's Playroom project, which provides playrooms for siblings in medical facilities.
The casino will have 86 table games, including blackjack, craps, roulette, and a dedicated poker room.
