Six fashion icons with local ties will be the first inductees to the Pittsburgh Fashion Hall of Fame on Oct. 3 at the conclusion of the first Pittsburgh Fashion Week.
To be honored are Barbara Cloud, former Post-Gazette columnist and fashion editor of The Pittsburgh Press; Joseph Orlando Sr., proprietor of the Joseph Orlando men's clothing store; the late Naomi Sims, a graduate of Westinghouse High School who blazed the trail for black fashion models; Nijole Ungethuem of Linda Bucci boutique and former fashion publicist for Saks Fifth Avenue; Jane Vandermade, influential retailer; and Arnold Zegarelli, longtime hair and beauty stylist.
The event will be held at the Omni William Penn, Downtown. Emcee will be Pittsburgh native Tom Julian, New York-based fashion consultant.
