Six new members were inducted into Allderdice High School's Hall of Fame.
The Hall, started last year, honors distinguished alumni, who are picked by an eight-member selection committee.
New members are:
Richard Caliguiri, Class of 1949 - Served as mayor of Pittsburgh from 1978 until his death in 1988 at age 56.
Esther Lapiduss, Class of 1937 - A comedian and entertainer.
Dr. Zola Horovitz, Class of 1961 - Renowned in the fields of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
Dr. Marvin Sleisinger, Class of 1941 - A distinguished medical doctor for more than 50 years.
Dr. Barbara Kramer Shore, Class of 1938 - Distinguished herself in the field of social work and through her volunteer efforts.
Ed Montgomery, Class of 1973 - Member of President Obama's administration. Leads the White House Council on Automotive Communities and Workers.
They will be officially inducted in a ceremony in October.
Patti Ghubril, of Seton Hill University in Greensburg, is one of 200 students nationwide selected for an Albert Schweitzer Fellowship for 2010-11.
Ms. Ghubril, of Pittsburgh, is studying art therapy. "Art and Soul," Ms. Ghubril's project, is intended to increase self-esteem and resiliency of women living on Pittsburgh's North Shore.
Anna R. Waldeck, a senior at Oakland Catholic High School, is a National Merit Scholarship winner.
The scholarship was sponsored by the University of Chicago, which she plans to attend.
