Forbes.com has ranked Pittsburgh seventh nationally on a list of the best places to raise a family.
The Harrisburg-Carlisle area was ranked second.
The website assessed such factors as a city's safety, affordability and educational opportunities.
Besides Harrisburg-Carlisle, Pittsburgh ranked behind Ogden-Clearfield, Utah; Provo-Orem, Utah; Syracuse, N.Y.; Rochester N.Y.; and Des Moines-West Des Moines, Iowa.
The honor comes about a month after Forbes.com ranked Pittsburgh the nation's "Most Livable City."
"With every positive ranking, it's important that we not only tell our good story and seek to attract more families to Pittsburgh, but roll up our sleeves and work on getting even safer, creating more opportunities for our youths and families and being more livable," Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said in a statement.
