OK, here's a test: Take a close look at the walls of Tom Mosser's studio and see how many people you recognize. Andrew Carnegie is an easy one. So is Sidney Crosby. Lou Gehrig rises near the the ceiling. You'll have to look carefully to find John F. and Jackie Kennedy. And yes, that's Brad Pitt hanging out under the hockey net. The work reflects both Mosser's interests and his development as an artist. Some of the pieces date to his junior high school days. If the room seems a bit heavy on sports, that's because it accounts for a good bit of his work. Not long ago he completed a giant mural (it's 200 feet wide and 30 feet high) at the Prudential Center sports arena in Newark, N.J. Pittsburghers are familiar with the playful mural of the two Andys -- Warhol and Carnegie -- on Smithfield Street. Both gentlemen sit under hair dryers at a beauty salon. Mosser and Sarah Zeffiro created that piece. This studio reflects that playfulness. It can also be a restful place, as demonstrated by Mosser's dog Murphy.
