Pittsburgh Opera contralto Lindsay Ammann will make her debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Rossweisse in Wagner's "Die Walkure" in April and May of 2011. She will be part of a new "Der Ring des Nibelungen" production by Robert Lepage, staring Bryn Terfel as Wotan and Deborah Voigt as Brunnhilde, Jonas Kaufmann as Siegmund and Eva-Maria Westbroek Sieglinde and Stephanie Blythe as Fricka.
Ms. Ammann is in her first year in Pittsburgh Opera's resident artist program, and already has sung several roles on stage, including Mistress Quickly in "Falstaff," Olga in "Eugene Onegin" and Lucretia in "The Rape of Lucretia." She will perform Marcellina in "The Marriage of Figaro" in April.
