The Penguins have recalled goalie Brad Thiessen from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre.
Brent Johnson, who is Marc-Andre Fleury's backup, did not practice today because of what coach Dan Bylsma described as "flu-like symptoms."
His status for Game 2 of the Penguins' opening-round playoff series against Ottawa Friday night at Mellon Arena is not known, but the Penguins clearly did not want to risk entering the game with a backup who is not healthy.
Thiessen, 24, went 14-14-1 with the Baby Penguins this season, with a
2.45 goals-against average and .914 save percentage.
