Elisabeth Bennington, partner, Pollock Begg Komar Glasser, was nominated to serve a three-year term as a council member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Family Law Section. Ms. Bennington focuses on divorce, support, custody and protection from abuse litigation.

World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh appointed Steven E. Sokol president and CEO.

Heather S. Heidelbaugh, shareholder, Babst Calland Clements & Zomnir, was appointed to the Pennsylvania State Advisory Committee of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

AM Health and Safety Inc. hired Anthony Veltri as vice president, industrial hygiene and safety services.

Michael Baker Jr. Inc. appointed James W. Adams vice president and national technical services manager for its rail and transit services business.

Pittsburgh Mercy Health System named new members to its board: John D. Goetz, partner, Jones Day; Eric L. Joy, retired deputy director, Allegheny County Probation Department; James A. Malanos, co-founder and president, Baker Young Corp.; Kenneth P. Service, vice president, Institutional Relations, La Roche College; Tony R. Thene, vice president, controller and chief accounting officer, Alcoa.

Law

Maiello Brungo & Maiello said Roger W. Foley Jr. joined as an associate. Mr. Foley focuses on litigation, school and municipal law, and construction litigation.

Stember Feinstein Doyle & Payne LLC, added a new partner, Samuel J. Cordes, and associates John E. Black III and Christine T. Elzer. The firm will now be called Stember Feinstein Doyle Payne & Cordes.

Keevican Weiss Bauerle & Hirsch said Paul J. Gitnik joined as counsel.

Nonprofit

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International named Bobbi S. Elmer executive director of the Western PA Chapter.

Emily T. Lewis, attorney, Babst Calland Clements & Zomnir, was elected to the board of directors of NEED. Ms. Lewis' practice involves counseling industrial and manufacturing clients, as well as real estate developers, regarding environmental regulatory obligations, including site remediation and cleanup requirements.

SharpVisions promoted Kim Love to chief program officer; Lynn Hoffman-Kyle, chief financial and information officer; Joseph Witucki, chief human resources and strategy officer; and appointed Vicki Cook to chief communications and development officer.

Albert B. Ciuksza Jr. was appoined by 3 Rivers Connect to its board of directors. Mr. Ciuksza is a market research analyst for the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.
