The city is embarking on its first effort to create a comprehensive 25-year plan to guide transitions and development. The plan's components include land use and design standards, history and culture, recreation, transportation and public art.
Three meetings have been scheduled this month for public input into the culture and history component, called PRESERVEPGH.
The meetings are Monday in Lawrenceville at the Estelle S. Campbell Boys and Girls Club, 4600 Butler St.; Thursday in the West End at the James Center, 327 S. Main St., and April 19 at the New Hazlett Theater in Allegheny Center at 6 Allegheny Square. All are from 6 to 8 p.m.
PRESERVEPGH is expected to take one year to complete, with a budget of $133,000 provided by the city, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and Preserve America.
