Dara Kittle, 31, and Ryan Ferchak, 30, wed on November 21, 2009. They now reside in Elizabeth.
Q: How did you meet?
Dara: Ryan and I met through work. He is a pharmacist at a store close to the clinic where I am a nurse. A lot of our patients would comment on what a great guy he was, so my friend and co-worker, DeeDee, asked him if he was single. When he said that he was, she told him that she had a nice girl for him. Time went by and he never inquired about me, so she took matters into her own hands. On Christmas Eve morning, we performed our usual routine of delivering cookies to a few special people. Little did I know that she had a dish shaped like a mitten filled with cookies for us to deliver to Ryan. When I found out, I was mortified, but eventually took the dish to him and introduced myself. The rest, I guess, is history!
Q: Where did you each grow up?
Dara: I grew up in White Oak. Ryan grew up in Munhall.
Q: Who proposed? How?
Dara: Ryan and I picked out the diamond and setting together. However, I never saw the finished product until Ryan proposed. It was the longest eight days of my life. Yet, once Ryan got down on his knee and asked me to marry him, I was thankful that I waited to see it. It was so beautiful and I was so happy that I cried.
Q: Where were you married? Why did you choose that site?
Dara: We were married at LeMont Restaurant. It has a spectacular view, beautiful decor, and delicious food. What more could we ask for? The choice was a no-brainer.
Q: Where was the reception and honeymoon? Why did you choose those sites?
Dara: Our reception was also at LeMont. We honeymooned in Stowe, Vermont. We wanted to go somewhere where we could relax. Stowe is a perfect town to do just that. We spent the week exploring, eating, fishing, and relaxing.
Q: Who was the oldest guest? Who came the farthest?
Dara: Ryan's cousin, Michael, came from Denver.
Q: Who was your favorite wedding vendor? Why?
Dara: Bill Laughlin was wonderful to work with. The LeMont was the perfect place for our ceremony and reception. It was also an absolutely perfect day. The food was amazing, the place looked gorgeous, and we had the time of our lives.
Q: What's the best marriage advice you received?
Dara: Keep God number one in your lives
