Signs of spring: A list of high school musicals

It's high school musical season again. Although some shows at high schools across the region already have begun, most are scheduled in March and April.

Below is a list of shows in chronological order, as well as three awards shows where most of these musicals will be considered.

Awards shows

The 14th annual Westmoreland Night of the Stars is 6:45 p.m. May 5 at the Palace Theatre, Greensburg; 15 Westmoreland County high schools are entered (denoted with a +).

The 16th annual Henry Mancini Awards for Butler, Lawrence and Beaver counties is 7 p.m. May 12 at Metheny Fieldhouse, Geneva College, Beaver Falls; 13 schools entered (denoted with an @).

The 20th annual Gene Kelly Awards for Allegheny County high schools is at 7:30 p.m. May 29 at the Benedum Center, Downtown; 30 schools entered (denoted with an • ).
