Pittsburgh 'Survivors' check in at anniversary party
Thursday, February 11, 2010

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- At a "Survivor" 10-year anniversary party last month, at least two Western Pennsylvania contestants were in attendance: Ian Rosenberger of 2005's "Survivor: Palau" and Chet Welch of 2008's "Survivor: Micronesia: Fans vs. Favorites."

After living in New York, Mr. Rosenberger moved back to Pittsburgh in May and is helping to run Strategic Images, a marketing/advertising/PR firm. He's living in Shadyside and has no interest in becoming a Hollywood star, although he does have an agent in New York and occasionally goes out for hosting gigs.

"I'm really glad to be back in Pittsburgh," he said. "There are just good folks in Pittsburgh and I'm really happy to be home."

Mr. Welch continues to run the Miss Pennsylvania pageant. He stays in touch with many of the other cast members from his season of "Survivor."

"It was a dream come true" to be on the show, Mr. Welch said, "a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, especially for someone from Ford City."
