Thanks for participating in the Pitt basketball Q&A.

Keep the questions rolling in and I will answer them every day throughout the season and March Madness.

You can follow the Panthers daily here as well as on my new Pitt basketball blog on PG-Plus. Membership in that site is only $3.99 per month or $36 per year.

One other thing -- my weekly live Pitt basketball chats will take place Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m..

Q: In my opinion, the Panthers need to play their best five as much as possible. To me, that would be Ashton Gibbs, Gil Brown, Jermaine Dixon, Brad Wanamaker and Gary McGhee. Nasir Robinson would be the sixth man and you could switch Wanamaker from small forward to shooting guard and Brown from power forward to small forward when rotations are needed. This way, your best five are on the floor for more minutes than they are now. Your thoughts?

FITTIPALDO: That quintet started the second half of the Seton Hall game. I think that was due to the fact that Brown was playing well and coach Jamie Dixon wanted to keep him into the game. For some reason, Dixon has been slow to pull the trigger on replacing Robinson with Brown in the starting lineup. Robinson only played 12 minutes against Seton Hall. There will be some games when Robinson can be an important player and others when he is not as useful. He just has a hard time getting off his shots under the basket as a 6-foot-5 power forward. In addition, he is not a threat as an outside shooter so opposing teams don't have to guard him on the perimeter. With Brown, opposing teams must respect his outside shooting ability, and when they do that, Brown has the explosiveness to drive around them to the basket for easy buckets. Brown's only problem at the moment is his inconsistency. He scored 23 points against South Florida, then he was held scoreless against West Virginia and then he scored 25 against Seton Hall. That trio of games was indicative of his scoring since he came back from his suspension. Pitt needs to get more consistent scoring production from Brown.
