HARRISBURG -- A court today rejected a defense motion to strike all testimony given by a key prosecution witness in the Bonusgate corruption case.
Defense attorney Dan Raynak said testimony should be excluded because the witness, Mike Manzo indicated he had spoken with his wife Rachel Manzo about his testimony. Mrs. Manzo also is on the list of potential witnesses in the case.
Mr. Raynak also wanted the court to declare Mrs. Manzo's testimony inadmissible.
Instead, Dauphin County Common Pleas Judge Richard A. Lewis ordered all witnesses not to discuss testimony with each other.
He also ordered defendants to stop using social networking sites from inside the courtroom. Defendant Stephen Keefer had been using Twitter to post updates about his case during testimony last week.
Mr. Manzo resumed testifying this afternoon. It is his fifth day on the witness stand.
On trial with Mr. Keefer are former state Rep. Mike Veon and former legislative aides Brett Cott and Annamarie Perretta-Rosepink.
They are accused of scheming to use public resources to run political campaigns for Mr. Veon and other House Democrats.
