Driver crashes into moving train

State police are investigating a crash in which a woman drove her car this morning into a moving train in Westmoreland County.

Emergency personnel were summoned at about 4 a.m. to the scene where train crews had to separate the rail cars for help to reach the victim, state police said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was taken by helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian. Her condition was not immediately available this morning.

The crash occurred as the train already had been moving through the crossing on Orisik Hollow Road in Jacobs Creek, police said.

Emergency officials said the woman's car was hit by a train at about 4 a.m. Thursday along Orisik Hollow Road in Jacobs Creek.
