Donora

Bridge to be named for Stan Musial

State Sen. J. Barry Stout, D-Bentleyville, has a bill designating a bridge in his district as the "Stan Musial Bridge."

The bridge carries State Route 1077 over the Monongahela River in Washington and Westmoreland counties and would be named after the baseball legend and Donora native.

The bill was unanimously approved by the Senate Transportation Committee last week and goes to the full Senate for a vote.

"Not only is Stan Musial a hall of fame baseball player, he is also a hall of fame person," Mr. Stout said. "I believe it would be a great show of respect to Donora's native son to name this bridge after [him]."
