Wednesday, February 03, 2010

Kim Kardashian

has landed in South Beach!

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star was scheduled to fly out on a red-eye Monday night, but got delayed because of plane problems, Eonline.com reports.

Now she's on the ground in Miami and ready to the get the party started ...

"... just got here! Going to be such a fun week!" she Tweeted Tuesday.

While it's all about the parties this week, come Sunday Ms. Kardashian will be cheering on boyfriend Reggie Bush and the Saints in the big game against the Colts.

Ironically, Kendra Wilkinson's hubby, Hank Baskett, will be playing for the opposing team. So the folks at E! will be rooting for both!

Any which way you look at it, if "We Are the World" was going to be redone, there was no better time than now.

Not only is it the 25th anniversary of the seminal all-star recording, but now all the proceeds from sales of the single and eventual music video are going to Haiti earthquake relief. And it's another chance to honor the late Michael Jackson, who co-wrote and produced the original with Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones back in 1985, Eonline reported.

"Excited to be here," Jennifer Hudson, fresh from Sunday night's Grammy tribute to M.J., stopped to tell the cameras Monday afternoon on her way into the Jim Henson Co.'s recording complex in Los Angeles.

Also spotted Monday: Kanye West, Tony Bennett, Beach Boy Brian Wilson, Snoop Dogg, Jamie Foxx, Jeff Bridges, LL Cool J, lucky 15-year-old Justin Bieber, producer Sean Garrett, Wyclef Jean, Jason Mraz, Enrique Iglesias, Vince Vaughn (not yet entirely sure of his role), Robin Thicke, Akon, will.i.am, Reba McEntire, Brandy, Josh Groban, Rob Thomas, T-Pain and the Zac Brown Band.

And heard, from the street, none other than Barbra Streisand.

"I'm honored Q [Quincy Jones] asked me to be a part of it and I hope people enjoy it," LL Cool J said outside.

Others slated to participate include: Celine Dion, Carlos Santana, Sugarland, Natalie Cole, India.Arie, Mary Mary, Bebe Winans, Tyrese Gibson, Raphael Saadiq, Keri Hilson, Heart, Pink, Miley Cyrus, Jordin Sparks, Katharine McPhee, Patti Austin, Usher, The Fray, Nicole Richie, Taj Jackson, Freda Payne, Lil Wayne, Harry Connick Jr., Orianthi ("This Is It" guitarist), Adam Levine, Earth Wind & Fire, Jonas Brothers, Nicole Scherzinger, Julianne Hough, Melanie Fiona, Mya, Anthony Hamilton, Gladys Knight, Joel Madden, Benji Madden, Musiq Soulchild, Randy Jackson, Kid Cudi, Trey Songz, Taryll Jackson, T.J. Jackson, Drake, Faith Evans, Rashida Jones, Al Jardine.

Enlisting the vocal prowess of a cavalcade of pop stars to rerecord a modern classic for the benefit of distressed Haitians isn't exclusive to just one side of the Atlantic.

So while the who's-who gathered in Los Angeles Monday night to record "We Are the World," Simon Cowell was putting the finishing touches on his own London-concocted charity single, "Everybody Hurts," which was released to British radio Tuesday morning, Eonline reported.

Understandably heavier on international acts, the R.E.M. cover features Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Rod Stewart, Jon Bon Jovi, Michael Buble, Susan Boyle, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis, Mika and James Blunt, among other stars. The track will be available for download this Sunday through HMV, Play and Amazon's U.K. site, with proceeds from the single to be split between the Disasters Emergency Committee and the Helping Haiti campaign.

Taylor Swift fans in Merseyside, England, have received some disappointing news, after a local newspaper confused the Grammy Award winning country star with newcomer Taylor Bright, BBC News reports. The Liverpool Echo announced that Ms. Swift would perform at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Junior School on Monday. But it was actually Ms. Bright who was scheduled to perform for the 480 students.

"I have no idea why they thought Taylor Swift would be performing at St Margaret Mary's when she was in America picking up her Grammys," a spokeswoman for Taylor Bright said.

"It must have been a slip of the tongue."
