McDonald to get $42,000 share of gambling revenues
Tuesday, February 02, 2010

McDonald will receive $42,000 this year from the gambling revenues generated by The Meadows Casino, council President Marilou Ritchie said Monday night.

Ms. Ritchie said she would advocate using the money to apply for matching grants or to purchase equipment, repair roads or complete special projects.

The money includes a lump sum of $25,000 plus $10 for each of the borough's 1,700 residents. The funds will be distributed in quarterly installments.

The gaming bill that state lawmakers approved last month included an amendment revising the way Washington County municipalities receive shares of the gambling revenues.
