Q: In how much trouble is Pitt if Jermaine Dixon is out for an extended period of time? Travon Woodall was awful against South Florida and doesn't look to be a Division I player.
Allen Jones, Pittsburgh
FITTIPALDO: The good news is that Dixon will not be ot for long. He went through pregame warmups against South Florida and was a late scratch. I would be surprised if he is not in the lineup against West Virginia Wednesday night. Still, Pitt's depth at guard is a concern. Jamie Dixon has given Woodall opportunity after opportunity, and Woodall continues to struggle. The coach's biggest problem is that he doesn't have anyone better than Woodall. Chase Adams has received more playing time recently, but he is not an upgrade over Woodall. And since Adams is a senior it does not make any sense to play him over Woodall if they're of the same talent level. It's not fair to say Woodall is not a Division I-caliber player. He most certainly is. However, he is overmatched in the Big East at this stage of his career.
