The United States All-Star team has been announced for the Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic March 20 at the University of Pittsburgh's Fitzgerald Field House.
Heading the list is Cornell University recruit Chris Villalonga, a three-time National Prep School Tournament champion from New Jersey's Blair Academy. Villalonga, who competes in the 140-pound weight class, entered the season with a 103-3 record. In December, he claimed a third consecutive title at the two strongest regular-season tournaments in the country -- Ironman Tournament and Beast of the East Tournament.
Three members of the 13-man lineup are three-time state champions -- B.J. Suitor, at 119; Logan Stieber, at 125; and Joe Cozart, at 145.
Suitor, a Boston University recruit, is a three-time Michigan champion from Swan Valley High School who entered the season with a 181-2 record. Stieber (129-1), an Ohio State University recruit, is a three-time Ohio champion from Monroeville High School. Cozart (166-2), an Iowa State University recruit, is a three-time Florida champion from Brandon High School.
Cozart is one of two Iowa State recruits. The other is Ryak Finch, a two-time Arizona champion from Safford High School. Finch (155-2) competes at 112.
The United States All-Stars will face the Pennsylvania All-Stars in the feature match at 8 p.m. The WPIAL All-Stars will face a New York All-Star team in the preliminary match at 6 p.m.
