UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Defensive back Shyquawn Pullium has given a verbal commitment to Penn State, making him the 19th member of the 2010 recruiting class.
He chose the Nittany Lions over Maryland, Pitt, Toledo and Cincinnati. Rivals.com rates him a three-star prospect.
Pullium, a 6-foot-1, 178-pounder from Erie (Pa.) Cathedral Prep High School, was the District 10 player of the year this past season while playing both defensive back and quarterback.
He is the ninth player from Pennsylvania to commit to the Lions for 2010. Seven recruits enrolled in school earlier this month.
National signing day is next Wednesday.
