Penn State's Lee won't play in Senior Bowl
Friday, January 22, 2010

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State announced earlier today that linebacker Sean Lee had accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl, but Lee told the Post-Gazette in a text message, "No, I'm not [playing]."

Lee, from Upper St. Clair High School, has been working out with trainer Steve Saunders at the Power Train Sports Institute in Lancaster, Pa., in preparation for the upcoming NFL Scouting Combine and the April draft.

Lee, slowed by knee injuries throughout his career, ranks No. 4 in Penn State history with 325 tackles and was a second-team All-Big Ten Conference pick this past season.

Lee's teammate, defensive tackle Jared Odrick, will play in the Jan. 30 Senior Bowl. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

Odrick, projected as a first-round NFL draft pick, earned first team All-American honors from the American Football Coaches Association this past season. He was named the Big Ten's defensive player of the year and defensive lineman of the year.
