Last week: A wrestler in the 285-pound weight class, Lazenga won the Allegheny County Tournament for the second consecutive year. Four of his final five matches in the tournament were won by pins.
Check this out: Entering this week, Lazenga, a senior, was 28-1 this season. He won 20 of those 28 matches by pins. Lazenga was a runner-up in the WPIAL tournament last year and placed seventh in the PIAA tournament.
What is the most important thing you have learned as a high school wrestler? Probably dedication. With wrestling, it requires practice every day for two or three hours, even during the weekend.
What is your proudest moment as an athlete? Probably winning the WPIAL championship in football [in 2008].
You've won most of your matches by pins. How have you improved that skill? We work a lot in practice on pinning combinations. And I think moving up a weight class allows me to be more in shape, especially in the third period.
What is the toughest thing about switching from football to wrestling? Definitely getting back in shape. Same as last year and same thing this year. For football you're going five, 10 seconds and then you get a break. In wrestling, I have to go for six minutes non-stop.
Future plans? Probably go to college. I haven't decided where I am going. Hopefully I can play football.
What is your favorite winter Olympic sport? The snowboarding super pike.
People would be surprised to know that ... I have a 4.3 GPA.

Jenny Papich, Fox Chapel
Last week: In leading Fox Chapel to two wins, Papich continued to be the spark for a Foxes team that has lost just once this season.
Check this out: A 6-foot-1 senior forward and four-year starter, Papich is averaging a team-high 17 points per game. She has committed to play next season at Gannon, where she'll major in environmental engineering and minor in business administration.
What's been the highlight of your career? Probably when we beat Oakland Catholic for the first time in 13 years my sophomore year.
What would you rather do in a game: Score 40 points or dunk? Dunk. Probably because I've been really close. I've gotten the rim. It would be sweet to be a girl who can dunk.
Is your team better than last season? Yes. I think one of the biggest things this year was us doing more team-bonding activities. We've been playing more together and having much more fun.
You guys lost handily to Mt. Lebanon in last year's WPIAL Class AAAA championship game. If you should meet this season, would the result be different? One of our goals is to play them again. They're a great team, but we think we can do better than we did last year.
