Q: Ed, do you believe it is better at this point to sign a free agent corner to play alongside Ike Taylor or take one in the first round and let a rookie go through the fire right away?
Jason Jones, Nags Head, N.C.
BOUCHETTE: If you can find a good starting cornerback in free agency, he will come at a steep price and I do not believe the Steelers will pay that. They drafted two cornerbacks last year, Keenan Lewis on the third round and Joe Burnett on the fifth. However, there is no reason to pass up another cornerback on the first round if a good one is available to them at the No. 18 pick. You could say the same about offensive and defensive linemen, though.
