Wilkinsburg swears in new officials
Tuesday, January 05, 2010

Wilkinsburg council last night welcomed two new members and reelected two veteran members to key positions during its reorganization meeting.

About 20 residents stood as witnesses while Judge Kimberly Hoots swore in Mayor John Thompson, First Ward councilwoman Barbara Ervin and newly elected Second Ward councilwoman Pamela Macklin, who will replace Barbara Nicholas. Once sworn in, Mayor Thompson issued oaths to Second Ward councilman Jason Cohn and Third Ward councilman Michael Lefebre, who replaces Denise Edwards.

Council voted unanimously in favor of reelecting president Eugenia Moore and voted by a 5-3 margin in favor of an additional term for vice president Jason Cohn. Council also voted to continue service with the law offices of Patricia L. McGrail as borough solicitor and to maintain its relationship with Glenn Engineering as borough engineer.
