Orpik named to U.S. Olympic team
Friday, January 01, 2010

Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik has been named to the U.S. Olympic hockey team.

Right winger Bill Guerin, a long shot to make the 23-man squad, was not chosen, but Upper St. Clair native Ryan Malone, now playing for the Tampa Bay Lightning, was.

Orpik is one of five Penguins scheduled to compete in the 2010 Games in Vancouver.

Sidney Crosby and Marc-Andre Fleury were picked for Team Canada, while Evgeni Malkin and Sergei Gonchar will play for Russia.
