All Pittsburgh city, Allegheny County, state and federal offices and courts will be closed tomorrow for the New Year's Day holiday. Banks and state liquor stores will be closed. Post offices will be closed and there will be no regular mail delivery or pickup.
The Port Authority of Allegheny County will run holiday bus and T service and the customer service line (412-442-2000) will be available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; however, PAT's Downtown Service Center will be closed. Garbage is being picked up Saturday for those customers with a normal Friday pickup day.
Most post offices are closing at noon today, with the last pick-up at collection boxes at noon. The General Mail Facility on California Avenue in Manchester; the McKnight, Monroeville and Montour branches of the Pittsburgh post office; and the Bethel Park; Greensburg; New Kensington; Uniontown; and Washington, Pa. post offices are open until 4 p.m.
PAT is running regular weekday service tonight, with more than 40 bus routes detoured Downtown for First Night festivities.
