Getting around First Night
Thursday, December 31, 2009

Key First Night streets will be closed to vehicles from 10 a.m. today, New Year's Eve, until about 1 a.m. Friday:

• Penn Avenue from Stanwix Street to 10th Street

• Eighth Street from Liberty Avenue to the parking lot entrances near Penn Avenue

• Ninth Street from Liberty Avenue to the Ninth Street Parking Garage entrance near Penn Avenue

• Penn Avenue Extension from Stanwix Street to the corner of the grass triangle

• Fifth Street and CLO Way from the Highmark Garage entrance to Fort Duquesne Boulevard

• Seventh Street from Liberty Avenue to the Theater Square Parking Garage entrance

• Seventh Street Bridge from Fort Duquesne Boulevard to Isabella Street

• Alleys and side streets leading into the areas noted above

Additional traffic pattern changes:

• Sixth Street will remain open from Liberty Avenue to Fort Duquesne Boulevard, except during the parade from approximately 8:15 to 8:45 p.m.

• The parking garage on Penn Avenue at Sixth Street will stay open through 5 p.m. Police will permit garage lease holders to enter and exit through the closed section of Penn Avenue from 10 a.m. to midnight.

• The alley parallel to Penn Avenue and Liberty Avenue between Ninth and 10th streets will remain closed through Sunday.

Road closures may be subject to change.
