Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a Pitcairn teen this evening.
Lamont Ford, 17, of Pitcairn, was found shot in a parked car at Brinton Avenue and K Street at 5:18 p.m., the medical examiner's office said. He was taken to UPMC Mercy, where he died in the emergency room at 5:53 p.m.
The medical examiner would not say how many gunshot wounds Mr. Ford suffered, but said an autopsy will be conducted tomorrow. It was unknown whether any arrests had been made.
Pitcairn police declined to comment, deferring to county homicide detectives, who could not be reached.
