Question: Ed, ESPN and NFL.com have the Broncos ahead of the Steelers with the same record. I thought ties out of division were settled by head to head first and then division record and so on?

BOUCHETTE: It all depends on what teams finish in a tie. If it were as simple as Steelers vs. Broncos, Steelers would win based on their victory against Denver. However, it gets more complicated when you go to three or four teams tied. If, for example, three teams are tied and they are from different divisions, their record in the AFC would determine the tiebreaker and that does not bode well for the Steelers. For example, if the Jets, Broncos and Steelers are tied at 9-7, the Steelers would be left out because of conference record.
