Awards/Honors

Lou Stanasolovich, founder, CEO/president, Legend was selected for the second consecutive year by Smart Business Pittsburgh as a 2009 Pacesetter. The Pacesetter Awards recognize outstanding business and community leaders who have had a significant impact on the region.

Joel M. Rosenthal, shareholder and director, Schneider Downs Business Advisors, received a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) certification.

Dr. Andrew J. Zahalsky, chairman, Monongahela Valley Hospital Oncology Committee, was honored as a clinical champion by the American College of Surgeons' Cancer Liaison Program. Dr. Donald M. Yealy, chair of the department of emergency medicine, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, received the outstanding contribution in research award from the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Jordan Crosby, school and teacher programs specialist, Carnegie Museum of Art's Education Department, was named Outstanding Museum Educator of the Year by the Pennsylvania Art Education Association. The award recognizes exemplary contributions, achievements, and service to art education at the state, regional, and national levels.

Grantmakers for Children, Youth, and Families said Carol Goss is the recipient of The 2009 Fred Rogers Leadership Award in Philanthropy for Children, Youth and Families. Ms. Goss is president/CEO of The Skillman Foundation.

Samuel W. Braver, shareholder, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney and chair of the firm's product liability practice, has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in America.
