Butschle returns to coach at Sto-Rox
Thursday, December 24, 2009

Ron Butschle is returning to football coaching -- and returning to Sto-Rox.

Butschle has been hired as Sto-Rox's new coach, taking over for Jason Ruscitto, whose job was opened by the Sto-Rox school board.

Ruscitto led the Vikings to an 8-3 record this season. The team lost, 35-22, against Beaver Falls in the WPIAL Class AA quarterfinals.

Butschle coached at Sto-Rox from 2000-03 and had a 26-17 record.

He guided the Vikings to the 2003 WPIAL Class A title game before leaving to become Seneca Valley's coach in 2004.

He spent four seasons at Seneca Valley before resigning after the 2008 season.

Sto-Rox approached Butschle about taking over for Ruscitto.

"Even though I didn't go to Sto-Rox, I always kind of felt like I was from Sto-Rox," Butschle said. "That's where I grew up professionally. I taught there for 15 years.

"When I was there, I really felt like I was part of that community and school, and I'm glad to be back."
