
Jenny Papich scored 18 points to help the Fox Chapel girls' basketball team remain undefeated with a 50-44 win at Woodland Hills in Class AAAA Section 2 last night.
Papich scored 11 points in the first half when the Foxes (4-0, 2-0) opened up a 28-21 halftime lead.
Sara Damico chipped in 11 points and six assists. Amanda Garland scored 13 of her 15 points in the fourth quarter for the Wolverines (2-3, 1-1).
Ringgold (4-1, 1-1) broke a fourth-quarter deadlock and sprinted to a 64-54 victory at Upper St. Clair (3-3, 1-1) in Class AAAA Section 4. Alana Resanovich scored all 15 of her points on five 3-pointers for the Rams. Alina Selby led the Rams with 16 points, and Grace Hyland tallied 17 for the Panthers.
Emilee Goodman's 17 points helped visiting Hampton (4-1, 2-0) defeat Mars (2-4, 1-1), 51-43, in Class AAA Section 1. Goodman made three 3-pointers, as did the Planets' Ashley Lynch, who scored a game-high 18 points.
South Park (4-1, 1-0) won its fourth in a row, as the Eagles defeated visiting Keystone Oaks (0-4, 0-2), 63-28, in Class AAA Section 4. Laurel Lindsay netted 13 of her 18 points in the second half for the Eagles.
Kendra Pilarski and Paige Onuska scored 19 points apiece to lead Beaver (4-1, 2-0) to a 57-37 victory at Riverside (3-2, 1-1) in Class AA Section 2. Onuska's 12 points in the first quarter vaulted the Bobcats to a 21-8 lead.
Ashley Panchik scored 10 of her 19 points in the fourth quarter to help host Ford City (4-2, 1-0) rally for a 46-41 win against previously unbeaten Deer Lakes (5-1, 1-1) in Class AA Section 1. The Sabers trailed by three after three quarters.
The Mt. Lebanon girls won its second game in the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix, Ariz., defeating Memphis Central, Tenn., 63-56. The Blue Devils (4-1), ranked No. 1 in WPIAL Class AAAA, were led by Lauren Arbogast's 23 points. Mt. Lebanon converted all five of its fourth-quarter free-throw attempts to help break open what was a two-point game after three quarters. The Blue Devils face Christ the King from New York City in the fifth-place game today.
Alexa Hayward's basket with 16 seconds remaining gave visiting Blackhawk (5-1) a 48-47 non-section win against West Allegheny (1-3). Hayward finished with 15 points.
Paige Alviani led a quartet of Hopewell players scoring in double figures in the host Vikings' 76-36 non-section victory against Beaver Falls (0-5). The Vikings (5-0), ranked No. 2 in Class AAA, also got 17 points from Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, 13 from Elise Farris, and 12 from Amanda Tocci. Alviani hit four 3-pointers and dished out 12 assists.
Laura McCauley's strong effort lifted Class AA No. 2 Greensburg Central Catholic (5-0, 2-0) to a 74-43 blowout win at Riverview (2-3, 1-1) in Section 4. McCauley scored a game-high 22 points, while adding 8 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 blocked shots.

Class AA No. 1 South Fayette (3-0) used an explosive offense to roll past visiting Washington (2-3), 80-45, in a non-section game. Mike Lamberti scored 19 of his game-high 25 points in the first half for the Golden Lions, who have scored at least 80 points in each of their three games. Marquis Brown led the Little Prexies with 20 points.
Devontae Watson's triple-double sparked host Lincoln Park (2-3) to a 74-21 non-section rout of Quigley (1-4). Watson finished with 23 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.
Jim Orie's 42 points weren't enough for visiting Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (1-3) in a 65-64 loss to Class A No. 3 Union (5-0) in non-section action. Orie connected on four 3-pointers. Anthony Thomas and Andre Jones scored 18 points apiece for Union.
