Rated: PG-13.
Suitable for: Moviegoers roughly 10 and up. Although a fairly mild PG-13, it's too violent and long (162 minutes) for the very young.
What you should know: It features a dazzling critter-covered alien world and the best motion-capture animation ever. Language: A heaping helping of profanity.
Sexual situations and nudity: Alien mating, discreet toplessness, loincloths.
Violence/scary situations: Quite a bit, as there's a war and a lot of hunting-killing that goes on before that war.
