Submit your Pitt basketball question

Thanks for participating in the Pitt basketball Q&A.

Keep the questions rolling in and I will answer them every day throughout the season and March Madness.

You can follow the Panthers daily here as well as on my new Pitt basketball blog on PG-Plus. Membership in that site is only $3.99 per month or $36 per year.

One other thing -- my weekly live Pitt basketball chats will take place Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m..

Q: If DeJuan Blair was still at Pitt, who would be the other starters on the floor with him and how far could Pitt go?

Darryl, Pittsburgh

FITTIPALDO: That's an interesting question, Darryl. If Blair had returned Pitt would be much better obviously. But there's more to it than his scoring and rebound production. His return also would have allowed Dante Taylor to play his natural position at power forward instead of center. I think you would have Blair at center with Taylor at power forward, Brad Wanamaker at small forward, Ashton Gibbs at shooting guard and Travon Woodall at point guard. In a few weeks, you oculd insert Jermaine Dixon at shooting guard with Gibbs taking over at the point and Woodall coming off the bench. And Gilbert Brown, once he gets into shape after serving his academic suspension, might push for a starting job.

How far could Pitt go? It's tough to say, but Blair was an All-American as a sophomore and would have been a player of the year candidate this season. He would have made that frontcourt almost unstoppable. But the problems at point guard would have persisted. This team sorely lacks a point guard in my estimation, so I don't know if they would have been Final Four good. I am fairly certain they would have been good enough to get to the Sweet 16.
