Q: Dwight Miller seemed to provide a spark for the team at the power spot against Indiana. Is there any thought that he can take some of the minutes from Nas Robinson?

Marc Halvorsen, Greensburg

FITTIPALDO: I wrote about the power forward situation last week, and coach Jamie Dixon was quoted on how much Dwight Miller had improved from the beginning of the season. Miller had missed about half of the team's preseason practices and fell behind the other players. But in the past few weeks he has been practicing well. Dixon rewarded his effort by giving him a career-high 15 minutes of playing time against Indiana. But I kind of get the idea that the decision to play Miller more against the Hoosiers was only because Robinson was struggling in that game. When Pitt returned home to play Kent State four days later, Robinson played 31 minutes and Miller only four. And I expect Miller's minutes to dwindle even more when Gilbert Brown returns from his academic suspension Dec. 22. Brown will likely split his minutes between small forward and power forward, which means power forwards Robinson and Miller as well as starting small forward Brad Wanamaker will see decreased minutes upon his return.
