Police cracking down on aggressive driving

City police this morning collared several speeding motorists at a checkpoint on West Carson Street.

The checkpoint is part of a holiday-season crackdown on aggressive drivers, Sgt. Terry Donnelly said.

As of 11:15 a.m., 17 motorists had been pulled over for going 50 mph or faster in a 35-mph zone. The fastest was going 68 mph, the sergeant said.
