Supervisors in Robinson, Washington County, last night approved a $545,000 tentative budget for next year that decreases property taxes by 2 mills.
Final adoption is scheduled for Dec. 30.
The budget reduces the tax rate from 17 mills to 15 mills -- it earmarks 12 mills for the general fund and 3 mills for fire service. One mill generates about $11,100 for the township.
"We [had added that 2 mills] last year, but we got things straightened out," Supervisor Gerald Runtas said. "We're giving it back to you."
Supervisor Brian Coppola said the township paid off its debt over the past two years, which helped enable the tax reduction.
The spending plan continues the agreement to pay neighboring McDonald for police service.
