Pitt heads to Charlotte for the Meineke Car Care Bowl
Sunday, December 06, 2009

No. 17 Pitt (9-3) is headed to the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte on Dec. 26th to play against North Carolina (8-4).

An official announcement of Pitt's invitation was made this afternoon by Pitt head coach Dave Wannstedt as well as Meineke Car Care Bowl director Will Webb.

"We're a relatively new bowl, this is our eighth year and to get a team like Pitt, which is ranked No. 17 helps to grow our brand," Webb said. "We're excited about having the Panthers here again."

Wannstedt added, "yesterday was a tough ball game, but we have unfinished business and we have one more game to play. Charlotte is a great location, it is a place where a lot of our families and fans can get to easily."
