Saturday, November 28, 2009

The Fifth Third Bank in the Chartiers Valley Shopping Center in Collier was robbed about 1:15 p.m. by a man armed with a black handgun.

An all-points bulletin was broadcast over police radios describing the gunman as a male in his late 40s with facial hair and greying hair who is either white or Hispanic. He was described as being about 6 feet 2 and 200 pounds with a slender build and wearing a camouflage coat.

He took an undisclosed amount of money that he carried from the bank in a blue and white flowered purse, the dispatch said. He escaped in a creme-colored Chevrolet Caprice headed toward Bridgeville.
