Police are investigating after the body of a woman was pulled out of the Ohio River yesterday.

The body was retrieved by Pittsburgh River Rescue around noon near Western Penitentiary in Woods Run.

The body is that of a white woman, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office. An autopsy is scheduled today. The woman has not been identified.

Pittsburgh homicide detectives are investigating.
