Pitt Women's Scouting Report: vs. Appalachian State

Matchups: No. 24 Pitt (3-0) vs. Appalachian State (1-2), today, 1 p.m. Petersen Events Center. The game is the first of the Panthers' second Thanksgiving Tournament. The second game (approx. 3 p.m.) pits Miami (Ohio) (1-2) vs. Marshall (1-3). The two winning teams will meet tomorrow for the championship, and the losers will play a consolation game. The game times tomorrow will be 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

TV/Radio: Pitt's two games will be broadcast live on WBGG-AM (Fox Sports Radio 970)

Pitt: Coach Agnus Berenato won her 400th career game Tuesday when the Panthers beat St. Francis, Pa., 75-70. ... G Taneisha Harrison has scored 25 points in each of past two games. ... She led the Vulcans to the Division II national title in 2003-04 season. ... Leading scorer is guard Sam Ramirez (15.7 ppg).

Miami and Marshall notes: Marshall is a Conference USA team. The Thundering Herd's losses are to Appalachian State, Ohio and Seton Hall. Their lone win came against Kent. ... Miami is in the Mid-American Conference and has beaten Bucknell and lost to Wake Forest and Arizona. ...It averages 68 points per game, allows 74.
