The Steelers brought in veteran quarterbacks Patrick Ramsey and Todd Bouman today, one day after Charlie Batch had surgery to repair his broken left wrist.

Ramsey, 30, and Bouman, 37, both were being checked medically and one of them could be signed soon if the team determines after Batch's surgery that he might miss more games than expected. Coach Mike Tomlin on Tuesday said Batch would miss two to four weeks after a metal plate was inserted to help the healing.

Ramsey, a former first-round draft pick of the Washington Redskins, was released by the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 3. He played in Denver last season as a backup.

Bouman was with the Baltimore Ravens for two months last season and also was a backup in St. Louis in 2007.
