CRAFTS

Hampton -- St. Ursula Parish Church, 3937 Kirk Ave., will host a craft and vendor show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 5.

FUNDRAISERS

Ohio Township -- Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, will hold a pancake breakfast with Santa and its annual Holiday with Heart extravaganza Dec. 5. Breakfast starts at 9 a.m. Cost is $6 for adults, $4 for age 10 and younger. Reservations required. Call 412-847-7055. The Holiday with Heart extravaganza will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors can create holiday gifts for pets and buy items from vendors. Items start at $2. No admission fee. Children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

HEALTH

Aspinwall -- UPMC St. Margaret, 815 Freeport Road, will hold informational sessions on bariatric surgical weight loss from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Dec. 15. The free sessions will be conducted by Dr. Robert Quinlin, medical director of Pittsburgh Bariatrics at UPMC St. Margaret. To register or for information, call 412-784-5900.

HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS

Cranberry -- St. Ferdinand Parish, 2535 Rochester Road, will hold a New Year's Eve party at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Marriott Hotel, Route 228, Cranberry Woods. Tickets are $75 per person and include a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, dinner and entertainment and a champagne toast at midnight. A cash bar will be open during the celebration. Harrison -- Center United Methodist Church, 1575Donnellville Road, offers "CHRISTmas Begins Here" at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5, with a covered-dish dinner followed by "Bad Rudolph" presented by Sadecky's Puppets. Free but reservations are required. Call 724-226-2300 by Tuesday.

Richland -- The First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, Route 8 at Heckert Road, will hold a Thanksgiving Day service at 10 a.m. Seasonal music will be performed by the Joyful Noise Choir. The Bakerstown Praise Band will perform a free concert of contemporary Christian music at 7 p.m. Dec 4.

LIBRARIES

Harrison -- The Community Library of Allegheny Valley Harrison Branch, 1522 Broadview Blvd., is selling holiday cards created by local children and teens. Cost is $10 for a 10-card assortment. All proceeds benefit the library. For information or to order cards, call 724-226-3491.

Shaler -- The Shaler North Hills Library, 1822 Mount Royal Blvd., is offering these Christmas events:

• Reading with Rover, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 16;

• Holiday party featuring the play, "Merry Christmas, Strega Nona," a craft and a visit from Santa, 10 a.m. Dec 5;

• Pom Pom Critters, craft session, 7 p.m. Dec 14;

• Gingerbread house contest, with the theme, "A Shaler Experience," this year. Contest rules are in the library. Entries accepted starting Dec. 1. A tour to see the entries and a holiday sing-a-long with Judy Opal will be held at 2 p.m. Dec 12.

• Stuffed animal sleepover for children to bring a stuffed animal to the library at 7 p.m. Dec. 18 and pick it up and have breakfast at 10 a.m. Dec. 19.

RETREATS
