Police in Indiana County have identified a man whose body was found in a wrecked pickup truck in Rayne today.
A passing motorist discovered David Frederick Biss, 54, of Grant, just before noon near Route 119, where he had apparently lost control of his northbound Chevrolet pickup, according to the Indiana County coroner's office.
The vehicle crossed the fog line and went through a guide rail, striking a utility pole and several small trees before traveling down a steep embankment.
The coroner's office said the crash likely happened several hours before the wreckage was discovered because it was obscured from view. The cause of the crash remains unknown pending an autopsy tomorrow morning.
