Duquesne EMS chief dies at accident scene
Monday, November 23, 2009

The Duquesne EMS chief collapsed and died last night just after arriving at an accident scene.

Emergency responders were called to a four-vehicle crash on the Thompson Run Bridge about 7:30 p.m., according to Allegheny County dispatchers.

Harry Moore, who had worked with EMS for about 20 years, collapsed as he arrived, said Duquesne Mayor Phil Krivacek. He was taken to UPMC Braddock, where he was pronounced dead. The mayor believed that Mr. Moore had a history of heart trouble.

"He lived for EMS," said Mr. Krivacek. "He's a loss to this community. He was doing what he loved to do."
