The state Department of Education recognized 1,939 public schools statewide with Keystone Achievement Awards for making adequate yearly progress -- known as AYP -- for two consecutive years, 2007-08 and 2008-09.
In Pittsburgh, seven schools have received the award for all six years the awards have been given: Banksville PreK-5, Dilworth PreK-5, Linden K-5, Phillips K-5, Rogers CAPA middle school, Sterrett 6-8 and CAPA high school.
In the rest of Allegheny County, 89 schools have made the list for all six years. All of the schools have been on the list all six years in three districts: Avonworth, Brentwood and Hampton.
The recognition was announced Friday.
