Paul K. Martin, the son of Pittsburgh residents Jean and George Martin, has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as inspector general of NASA.

Mr. Martin, a graduate of Penn State University, has been serving as deputy inspector general at the Department of Justice. He was confirmed Friday, department officials said.
