Book to detail Art Institute history

A gala launch of "The Art Institute of Pittsburgh," an illustrated history of the 88-year old college, will be held in conjunction with the opening of an exhibition of historic photographs, films, art and artifacts at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Institute, 420 Blvd. of the Allies, Downtown.

Authors Jacquelyn Felix Fisher and E. W. Goodman will be present to sign books. There will also be live entertainment, a silent auction, and hors d'oeuvres by the Institute's International Culinary School.

An afternoon tea will close the exhibition Jan. 21. Events are free, but reservations are requested at 412-291-6200, ext. 7123.
